About the Lits
Do you hear "lits" and think "literary"? Well...don't. The writing may be poetic, but the poems will tend to be more along the lines of "How Do I Avoid Commitment" by Kristin Billerbeck's Ashley Stockingdale, or "Home on Furlough" by Ray Blackston's Allie Kyle. The lit genre is full of humor, fun, a few too many namebrands sometimes, and, of course, faith.
The lits include Chick Lit, Lad Lit, Mom Lit, and Lady Lit, and the sub-genres basically say who the target audience is. Chick lit - young and single females. Lad lit - this is for the young and single males. Mom lit - um...you never would guess... And Lady Lit - for the ladies who might not be young anymore, but that doesn't mean they can't have fun. :-)
Though the lits boomed and then faded from view, there are still good reads available in the genre, and some are still getting published under the slightly different title of light-hearted women's fiction or something similar.
Some Christian Lit Authors:
Not everything they have written will fall under lits. And some are in sub-genres, such as chick lit mystery. And this list is not complete. But...there you go. Have fun!
